Emma Rathbone is incredibly talented! She recently completed several projects for me, and her work is absolutely flawless. On the upholstery side, she created beautiful new slipcovers for my kitchen stools and completely reupholstered two swivel chairs, making them look brand new.
She is equally skilled with wardrobe pieces—she altered a mother of the groom dress for me perfectly, along with many other clothing alterations. It is rare to find someone who excels at both high-quality tailoring and professional upholstery. She is precise, reliable, and highly recommended for any project!

We recently had the seats recovered on our antique boat by Emma Rathbone.
She was the sixth company we called. Prices and service times were all over the lot. Not the cheapest but Emma was at the lower end of the scale with a reasonable timeline.
The differences was that she was much more consultative about fabric & foam choices. For example, we wanted a blue to match the trim but the darkest at the usual suppliers like Sailrite was too light. She worked with us to find a solution.
Long story short, covers were well done, on time, and she even charged us 10% less than the estimate!

Emma is an excellent seamstress! She has altered dresses, pants, shirts, and even a swimsuit and pillow cover for me, and her work is always excellent. She is incredibly dependable and has great communication skills. She picks up the items I need altered right from my home and usually delivers them back within 10–14 days. If I need something altered in a hurry, she is often able to accommodate that as well. I highly recommend Emma for any sewing or alteration needs!

Emma first hemmed pants for me. She came to my home to pin and even dropped back off to me! She did a great job at a very reasonable cost,
I recently asked Emma to make new pillows for my sofa. She helped me pick out fabric and they were beautiful! She included piping, zippers, and feather inserts. They are as nice as ones I saw at furniture stores for a much more reasonable price.

Emma has helped me with a variety of garments over the past year, and she has always done a phenomenal job! She has helped me with everything from repairing a snapped elastic waistband on work pants, to replacing zippers on jackets and tops made from different fabrics (something I unfortunately need fairly often because my dryer seems to have a personal vendetta against zippers), to shortening the hem on a bridesmaid dress made from a heavy, stiff satin material. No matter the garment or the repair, her work has always been excellent.
I’ve also recommended Emma to several friends with a variety of tailoring and alteration needs, and they have all had wonderful experiences with her as well.
